Corin launched his career in the 5-star deluxe hotel industry in 1990 with Forte Hotels. Over the next eight years, he honed his expertise in the front office and reservations divisions of renowned UK establishments including The Balmoral in Edinburgh, The Athenaeum, and The Westbury hotels in London.
In 1998, Corin embraced the opportunity to join the pre-opening team at One Aldwych, London, in the role of Revenue Manager. His journey with Campbell Gray Hotels collection continued with key roles in the pre-opening phases of Carlisle Bay in Antigua, Le Gray in Beirut, and the relaunch of Dukes London.
Corin manages a team of revenue managers offering remote and on-site support to clients around the world. He works with The Ritz, The Goring, and The Beaumont, contemporary lifestyle hotels such as One Aldwych, The Metropolitan, and South Place, and country houses like Beaverbrook, Bailiffscourt, and Seaham Hall.
What’s your career highlight to date?
There have been many highlights in my 30-year career, but particularly of note was being part of a pre-opening team of Le Grey in Beirut. Such a beautiful city full of so much history and wonderful people and an amazing hotel.
When did you fall in love with hospitality?
Had to be in St Andrews when I worked at The Russacks Hotel on the 18th Green of The Old Course and had the pleasure of dealing with Sean Connery. It was at this moment that I decided I quite liked this industry and have never looked back.
What one item do you never travel without?
Very sadly, the one item I never travel without is the laptop. I feel like the President of the US carrying the nuclear codes. I have found the day I don’t have the laptop with me is the day that a hotel has a crisis and nothing worse than trying to help on nothing but a mobile.
