What’s your career highlight to date?
Being part of the management team for an incredible UK boutique hotel group. Helping the business and product evolve and grow, overseeing a supply chain with a £30m annual spend.
When did you fall in love with hospitality?
Probably around the age of 12. Eating out with the family back in the 80s or a drive to the coast for a Summer holiday was a real treat. The excitement to try the menu and fascination to explore every nook and cranny. Totally in awe of how the people working there made it all happen.
What’s the next big thing in hospitality?
The use of AI. Not necessarily in the form of widespread Housekeeping or F&B ‘service robots’, but by really harnessing AI to amaze guests with a uniquely personal customer experience. Bedroom lighting set precisely to our tastes or needs, favourite music playing in the background to make us feel at home, and a menu which really floats our boat feel closer than ever.
